It was a wonderful spring morning, I was in a great mood. Having prepared myself a cup of green tea, I sat down at the computer desk with a firm intention to make the day even better by playing a round or two of my favorite game called Team Fortress 2 Classic. The game loaded as usual, cheerful music performed by the incomparable Mike Morasky flowed from the headphones, ideally suited for skirmish between motley soldiers of fortune, in the 60s - 70s entourage.
Heated, and perhaps even slightly aroused, I began to search for a suitable server for online massacre. Almost immediately, one of the European servers, generously provided by the vaultf4 team to modest enthusiasts of Team Fortress 2 Classic like myself, caught my eye. I was no stranger to this server and its inhabitants, as I occasionally indulged in the pleasure of frolicking in the vastness of such unforgettable classics as pl_barnblitz, pl_upward, cp_dustbowl, pl_badwater and many others. Even ctf_2fort did not escape my attention, although I would prefer to erase the memories of it from my head. So, in anticipation of a glorious battle, without further ado, I pressed the join button. What happened next divided my life into “before” and “after”. Instead of the promised excitement of battle, I received a short message about my untimely ban. My hands were shaking, my mind was racing, tears were welling up in my eyes, pee was streaming down my leg and on my gaming chair. Shock. Denial. Anger. Bargaining. Depression. I went through all these stages of grief in a matter of seconds. The only thing I couldn't do was acceptance. I don’t know why I was banned. The message didn’t specify the reason for my summary execution. Just a dry recommendation to visit vaultf4.com for information. I tried to contact one of the community managers “MoiraPrime” on Steam to at least find out the reason for the ban, but my pleas were met with cold, deafening silence. He didn’t grace me with a hint, or symbol, or at least my friend request acceptance - nothing. And now here I am. Devastated, dishonored, filled with silent anger and grim determination, I ask you – why? What is the reason for my ban? I have done nothing wrong in my career, I have always tried my best to be useful to my team. I have never gotten into conflicts with other players. I have not broken a single one of your rules. And what was I rewarded with in the end? Swift and sudden ban. A ban with no means to defend myself and without even an explanation. Today is my birthday. Please, don’t make this the day I die. Unban me, or at least give me a formal reason why I got banned. Otherwise, prepare for unforeseen consequences.
Edit: Just found out that I was banned for WHOLE 3 DAYS and the reason being "Inappropriate Spray". I swear I didn't spray nothing "inappropriate". I've been framed, damn it! There wasn't anything insulting, violent or "overly sexualized" in my sprays. Moreover, those sprays was made of youtube video screenshots, and I figure that if it's ok for YT ToS it's also should be fine to use on your servers. Also, I've seen FAR more outrageous sprays on your server than mine. For example, Ned Flanders in a tight little ski suit with his caked up dump truck facing the camera!!! And he also had a naughty smirk on his mustachioed face like he's some whore of babylon! How am I supposed to have some restful sleep after seing such things?! And what if underage player saw it? For Christ's sake admins, go for the real criminals on your server and leave real art appriciators like me alone!
Also, I have a suggestion. If possible, when you ban someone can you show the info (reason, length, etc) in game somehow? Or at least present a link right to the banlist page, because I didn't even knew you have such feature utill I saw it in some other ban appeal.
