Hey,

Long story short, I was responding to a player called Yuri. They were calling me out during a match for not doing enough and camping as a spy, saying something down the line that I'm useless and I'm not needed anyway, while they had just joined and hadn't done much yet themselves. I told them that they have just joined but are already complaining about me, so I told them to cope, and that was it.

Quickly after that, Rat with a gun warned me to tone down, even though I was the one being insulted in that situation. I obeyed, but even though I didn't say anything after their warning, I got muted anyway.

Please note that I am not trying to get Rat into any trouble (if that could even happen because of my appeal), but I truly think that their judgment of the situation was wrong. I am not trying to get that other player into trouble neither - despite not being a nice thing to say on their part and disliking them because of it, I don't think it is that big of a deal anyway and expressing their opinion, is just that - an opinion. Also, to play the devil's advocate, I believe that I have gained some questionable reputation in the past (and rightfully so), mainly for taking banter too far on some occasions and disagreeing with other long-time players in game. Nevertheless, I have never resorted to hate speech, racism or any kind of gender-phobic behaviour at any point, and surely there must have been much worse offenses or comms abuse that didn't even get a warning, so I think I shouldn't be perma-muted.

Despite that, I have made some friends while playing TF2C on your servers, so I want to communicate with them when we are playing together.

Anyway, I hope I have explained the situation and my stance clearly enough for You to reconsider my ban. If you have any questions or comments, positive or negative, please let me know

After reviewing the details, I would first like you to understand the reason behind your communications block.

Your mute was not due to any single interaction with any player and more as a result of longstanding toxicity. Even disregarding the moment you described, you have demonstrated plenty of similar behaviour over the the last 28 days worth of chat logs.
I imagine that, after your warning, Rat took a look at your history and decided you had more than enough chances.

Given that you have already had two bans for similar reason, the "Punishments" section of our rules states that the next punishment should indeed be a permanent ban or comms block.

1st Offense: Ban, or Communication Block. Bans and Communication Blocks will last no more than 3 days.

2nd Offense: Ban, or Communications Block, depending on the type of infraction. Bans and Communication Blocks will last from 1-2 weeks.

3rd Offense: Permanent Ban or Communications Block, only eligible for appeal in case of error *or* if at least 1 year has passed since the ban was issued

From the reasoning above, I do not believe your block is in error so it will not be overturned. However, reviewing this and your prior bans, we have agreed to reduce the severity from a permanent block to a 2 month one. This should give you ample time to improve how you will act towards others in our servers.
