yeeeeaap. just wish i wasnt so self-conscious about turning the volume up sometimes lol. old apartment block and all that.
 
If you wanna be extra nice you could do a test with your neighbours where you turn up the volume and they tell you when they can hear it so you know where that threshold is
 
I hate how loud earbuds have to be before you can hear them clearly over outside noise
 
pretty much the entire reason i just wear full headphones instead of earbuds. it also helps give me an excuse to not interact with strange dudes when they try to approach
 
I almost exclusively wear headphones for anything on my pc, when I'm out and about I just use those old apple wired earbuds. I really don't mind keeping them quieter cause I like to be aware of my surroundings 🐈
 
yeah I used to try walking to work wtih music or an audio book and it just never worked for me. Either I couldn't hear the thing I was listening to over traffic noise, or it was so loud you can't hear what's going on around you (and possibly damaging hearing)
 
what grinds my gears these days is people that don't even use headphones and just blast their music at max volume on the bus/subway though a shitty phone speaker
 
and somehow it's also never a genre of music I actually enjoy either
 
I'd be curious to see the results of a poll on what genre that is by region
 
but I would laugh if somewhere in the world there's a bunch of nuisance grandpas blasting classical music on public transit
