Ever since the war in Ukraine started, Madness Combat animations have been chuck-full of stealthy pro-war messaging, what a pain... :meh

never heard of madness combat beyond the name and some (frankly quite annoying) loud fans, but this is true for any type of media/franchise with a large CIS fanbase.

The fanbase was pretty cool until them liberals got them soft supple hands on it and started wokefying it by making NONSENSE! It became mainstream and now every annoying person ever is making it their hyperfixation.

i could rant in vc a lot about contemporary culture in Russia. the level of acceptance and prevalence for AI-generated stuff here is absolutely astonishing, and so much stuff i see it being used for, along with non-generative art, is for hate or hate-adjacent purposes.

in fact, outside of niche circles, a lot of respectable Russian artists on the internet with a good following.. don't even speak Russian on the internet. i get them. same here. still no idea how this country tries to pride itself on a great cultural foundation of the 18-20th centuries when in the 21st century art feels completely disrespected in Russian culture.

Well I mean if they spend the entire match playing air hockey on a full server, I can understand it. There's usually other people trying to join. Context is important, otherwise you're just making the staff look bad for no reason, don't be like the bigots in the steam reviews telling half-truths.

It really blows because a lot russians end up feeling ashamed of themselves because they're afraid they may be harassed or alienated even though they've personally not done anything wrong.
