Holy. Fucking. Hell. It's funny that I missed so much in the Pokemon universe. I didn't pay much attention to pokedex entries, and I never read any books in the game. The Pokemon world is incredibly dark if you pay attention. Hell, even X and Y were dark on the surface. But this theory rules.
