2K Australia is working on a pre-sequel to Borderlands 2, which will give a full game experience with new characters and a few new mechanics (nothing overboard though). It is set on Pandora's moon, so you are in space suits and have to keep track of O2. O2 is also used for the jetpacks every character is going to have.
The main characters for this adventure are Nisha, Athena, Wilhelm, and Claptrap. The game length has been approximated to Borderlands 1 length rather than Borderlands 2, but we will see later this year. It is running on the Borderlands 2 engine. Enjoy the video with gameplay footage:
