I realy love tf2c and I want to start it up but the severs are not working what gives?

This mod is not dead, there's just a glitch with the server list so nobody is playing. Sometime in this month Valve will probably release a patch for it, and the servers will be filled up again.

Well, to sell other peoples games, you gotta fix them. This also includes mods.
And the game isn't dead, it's jsut dormant for now.
