From what I understand if you have a high enough readiness rating for the "Shepard Lives" ending with this mod the crucible team was able to refine and get the system working to the point were it fires off without the need of the starchild scene and only killing the reapers letting the Geth live. Additionally it adds this scene to the very end of the montage rather than the Breath scene, Ashley is repalced by whomever your romance option was.
