Microsoft has a rule in place that titles for their platform must either be timed exclusives or launch for all the platforms at the same time. This holds true for their indie program ID@Xbox. This prevents titles such as Outlast, Don't Starve, and Contrast from making it to the Xbox platform currently.
Microsoft is now moving to evaluation on a case-by-case basis for reviewing of timed exclusives on other platforms, which could mean games such as Outlast, Don't Starve, and Contrast could see a Xbox One release in the future. This is good news for both indie developers and gamers with Xbox One.
