Had a tinker with it today and figured I'd share some screenshots of the experience for everyone that's interested.
First impressions: Still a bit rough around the edges, as to be expected, but shows a lot of promise, and definitely going to be useful for a dedicated media center game PC.
Current downside is the installer clobbers everything on your PC, and will only boot on UEFI-enabled systems... so at current it won't work on that PC that's a few years old you might have sitting gathering dust. I'd expect that may change soon.
Other than that... it's not too different from big picture mode on your regular PC... just more streamlined for a self-contained box.
