something else that's compounded this issue lately is soldier's new anchor melee. to be clear, i fucking love the thing. it's so much more satisfying to crashland into a group of idiots rather than try to tap someone mid-blast jump with the market gardener. i use it at almost any opportunity i can, even in situations i know will probably get me killed, because it's just that satisfying
however
the "limited rotation" problem affects the anchor disproportionately compared to other weapons because many of the hyper-popular maps have very short skyboxes, or take place mostly indoors (2fort especially is bad for this) where it's almost impossible to max out the anchor's damage
even with the best timing i can manage, it never feels like i can hit the anchor's maximum damage potential
it's true that different weapons are better for different scenarios but there's no precedent for an entire weapon being made worse by the map itself (not even in live, either) this is yet another example of TF2C's cool and unique features suffering because of TF2 players adamantly refusing to try anything new
