Reason for Ban: Brown Hat Rule, or a history of, or several rule violations

I am not exactly aware of what rules I broke, as I was not aware of said rules, but I will admit that I did make a few distasteful jokes, not realising I might have been breaking them. I do think a permanent ban is a little unjust, as I did stop immediately when told to by mods.

If the distasteful jokes were what got me banned, I apologise and understand that what I said was inappropriate, I did so trying to be funny, and for that I am regretful.

Following this incident, I will be more careful about what I choose to joke about, as I do not know who I may offend.

After reviewing the details of your appeal, we have decided to reduce your ban from a permanent ban to a 3 day ban, with the duration of the punishment counting as time served. While what you said violated our rules and was incredibly inappropriate, and an ignorance of the rules is not an excuse for violating them, you did apologize and adjust your behavior after being warned.
As a result, an escalation to a permanent ban seems excessive given the complete context of the situation. However, you are now considered inexcusably aware of our rules and what they entail, and as a result you're less likely to receive courtesy warnings from staff prior to having a punishment issued.
