the ban is dated today. i didn't play today. when i alt tabbed back into my tf2c window while trying to get in it said i was banned. i'm assuming i was banned as i was trying to connect to the server? i was pretty surprised since i really have no idea what i did to get banned, i didn't say anything hateful or racist. i'd like to know why i was banned.

You were, in fact, not on the servers at the time you had been banned, but that was because some of our staff were looking into some previous reports a couple hours prior that had may have been overlooked at the time. You were reported for and banned initially due to your spray, which is poster used by a known white supremacist group and advocates for military subjugation of minorities. On its own this is against our rules on multiple levels, however you also happen to have a more than one white supremacist dogwhistle related to you from multiple different sources, and as such we don't consider these to be coincidences. It shows you very likely know exactly what you're doing.

We have a zero-tolerance policy for this kind of behavior, and as such you will remain banned for the foreseeable future. As is policy, you will be able to appeal again one year from your ban date, on May 8th, 2027.

i assume you're referring to the rhodesian "be a man among men" poster. i obviously do not approve of the rhodesian regime, i just find countries that don't exist anymore to be fascinating and thought the design "goes hard". the poster does not mention race at all it just advocates for you to join their military. (also the ruling whites were minorities in rhodesia, which is why it was a doomed state, why would they advocate to suppress their own people??) i don't think i've ever used a white supremacist dogwhistle on the server, let alone multiple. i know i have not done these things.

Your profile image as of right now is from a community that was banned from Reddit for being full of blatant white supremacist rhetoric. Your spray is a pro-military poster that is actively used by a white supremacist movement right now. Dogwhistles in their nature are meant to give a level of plausible deniability to the person using them, in order to be able to feign ignorance to the uninformed. Since we see two completely separate ones from very different sources that you have displayed, we have opted to take the safest route for our community and remove the person openly displaying them. Your further defense here does not inspire confidence in this being a mistake.

I will be locking this thread as this is unlikely to be a very productive conversation. As stated before, you will be eligible for another appeal on May 8th, 2027.
