I enjoy playing on VaultF4's servers regularly and I want to help keep things fun for everyone. I would do my best to apply the rules justly. I have zero tolerance for racism, homophobia, transphobia, and other bigoted behavior. I have used the in-game report function regularly to report players who blatantly violate this server rule in particular, nearly all of which have resulted in justified bans.
Anything else you'd like to tell us about yourself:
I'm very familiar with the Source Engine, having made custom content on and off for various games (Garry's Mod and Portal 2, primarily) since I was around 11 or 12 years old. I did, at one point, create my own private cheat from scratch in C++ for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to understand how Source works at a deeper level (through reverse-engineering efforts) and how video game cheats work. I feel that this background knowledge is useful from a server moderation perspective as it would help in identifying cases of cheating (where automated anti-cheat systems might be ineffective or have false-positives) and unfair/exploitative use of game mechanics and maps. I'm currently pursuing a major in computer science, hoping to land a job anywhere in the games, cybersecurity, or IT industry.
I understand that by creating this thread and signing my name, that I am applying to Volunteer my time with Vault F4 in the Game Administrator role. As a Game Server admin I would be responsible for keeping the game servers a fun environment. I will spend at least an hour of my time each week on the servers to retain my position as a Game Server admin with Vault F4, and if I do not meet the requirement my admin status will be revoked. I also affirm that everything I have stated in this application is true to the best of my knowledge.
