Dying Light

English

Global Mod
If anyone has it, we should play together. This game scares the shit out of me and it would probably be a lot more fun with someone to play with.

How do you like that game english? I heard it had optimization issues and that the story was a little flat? Thoughts?

Also what GPU and CPU do you have? I've got a 770 and I've heard that the frame rate dips make it unplayable and that the game basically blows an AMD hardware because of poor coding.

I run nVidia and Intel. GeForce GTX 760 and a Intel i7 4770K. I had one random crash that was fixed by disabling one video option (nVidia HBAO, cannot tell the difference in quality of graphics after disabling.) I have not once experienced a frame rate dip that made the game unplayable and I am playing at highest settings. I have heard that AMD users have been having issues and according to their latest patch (1/30/15) it is a known issue and they are "working on it." So take that for what you will. I only played Dead Island (Also by Techland) and it was on PS3 so updates weren't pushed a lot. So I cannot really comment on Techland's history with coming through on their promises.

As far as the game goes I enjoy it. I am getting the feeling that the story might be a bit cliche and similar to Dead Island's. However, I think they implemented an open world system and a combat system better than Dead Island. From any review I have seen, Techland isn't really known for their story telling. The game is relatively easy during daylight hours. Meaning you might die some, but most of the time it will probably be because you did something silly to get yourself killed. Once the sun sets though, totally new game. I am absolutely terrified while the game is during its night cycle. Its a mix of trying to stealth by some rather nasty improved zombies (that only come out at night) and running scared shitless when you manage to attract one of them. I have heard that the game is more enjoyable with others. I haven't played a whole bunch of the game, but I am excited for the combat/running like a scared little girl aspect of the game. And I would love for someone else to scream and cry like a baby with me.

And I am a fan of the Steam Rating system and I think it pretty accurately portrays games and you are able to get a real sense of the game. It has a 89% positive rating. And Steam users are not afraid to write some really scathing reviews and I just haven't seen them except for the AMD issue.

Wow we actually have really similar systems. I have an i5 4690k and a GTX 770. So I probably can expect similar preformace. Are the frame rates stable or do they bounce alot? Not enough to be unplayable just so much so that it is bothersome at all? Also have you overclocked at all?

I do not overclock my system at all (haven't had a need or desire to). I don't run a FPS counter when I play, but I haven't even noticed FPS changes. So I am probably sitting consistently north of 45FPS

I think we need to start streaming our adventures. I will see how my comp handles it later tonight doing side quests
