Horror Game Suggestions

Lol, I AM looking for specific shit here. No old ass Reechard games allowed, and PC only. That isn't too hard. =/

But it is hard. Horror games have taken a major fall and there's been no significant releases in years. The only ones that have been released are years old and yysou said you don't want old. The latest horror games to be released are Resident Evil and Dead Rising, and those are both disqualified by hardcore fanboys because they say they aren't scary like the 1st games in the series. Your only options left really are Slenderman and Outlast.

The only game I can think of is a left 4 deaf clone called No More Room In Hell.

Dead Rising just wasn't scary period. It was a straight-up action-oriented zombie slasher... Resident evil is semi-horror, but every game after 2 got more and more actioney and less horror...

There's the Silent Hill games...

The 1st dead Rising got good praise, but the next 2 suffered the resident evil fate.

And silent hill is a console series which is off his list

You can get silent hill for PC..... Also, I play dead rising (the first one) regularly, it's my go-to for the 360, it's just not a horror game in the least bit. You run around a mall picking up anything you can find and smashing zombies in the face with it.

System Shock 2
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl
SCP: Containment Breach
Condemned: Criminal Origins
Thief: Deadly Shadows
Pathologic
Penumbra: Overture
Yume Nikki
Call of Cthulhu: Dark corners of the earth

Oh excuse me I'm a console noob. I meant Dead Space. The 1st one got good reviews, then the next 2 turned into a shooting fest and less scary.

I actually don't see the F.E.A.R. series in here, that one is decent and is cheap at the moment. Pretty scary FPS. There's also DOOM 3 and Dead Space 1. Lava mentioned the Penumbra games. I would also say that, while not "Horror", Hotline Miami is extremely difficult, cerebral, and emotionally disturbing.

I'd also recommend the PainKiller games. They aren't really horror, just grindfest FPS games with tons of demons and devils to kill while you battle through hell and purgatory. It's a horror-themed FPS that has no scariness to it, but the weapons are extremely fun and have amazing combos, and it's a huge gorefest. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

I actually already own the fear games. And I've watched all of penumbra. The rest I'll check out when I'm home

I already own Shadow of Chernobyl, I didn't realize it was considered a "horror" game. I've watched a little bit of SCP and granted, it's scary with jump scares but I'm not sure. I believe I know which Condemned you're talking about, which means I've beaten it. Not sure how you see Thief: Deadly Shadows as "horror". Pathologic looks old, but is it a horror game? Penumbra is out. Yume Nikki...what?

Call of Cthulhu I've looked at many times. Still not sure.

If anything, I may give in to Slender: The Arrival or Outlast. It's up to you guys. I can probably promise jump scares...

Honestly, I threw Thief and Yumme in there to see if you were actually paying attention. On that note...PICK SOMETHING ALREADY!!! :p

Hey man, we aren't the ones going "I want to play a JRPG, but not final fantasy, and not anything like final fantasy, and not chronotrigger either, or dragon warrior, or rising sun, or secret of mana, or valkyria, and I already watched all the paper mario games, and I don't like XenoGear, and the Earthbound series isn't new enough even though it's the #1 best example of the genre"...

Once I figure out the game, I'll probably do the livestream Saturday night. A big issue is lighting at this point.

And I honestly don't know how long I can stream. Even a game like Outlast will have me at the point where I don't want to move anywhere. I don't know the game by heart so I know ONE area where I might be too scared to move. =(

Bad news, no livestream this weekend. With Thanksgiving/Black Friday coming next week, we gotta work Saturday night. =(
