Little Mac from Punch Out coming to Super Smash Bros

lonesome killer

Banhammered
I myself never played the original b/c I never had a NES. I did play an emulated version on a website and the game sucks in my opinion. But it's cool that they are finally adding classic, fan-loved characters. I mean who even knew who the ice-climbers were and they were added before Mac.

And it appears he has a special damage bar. Above your normal damage bar he has a meter that fills up when he takes damage. Think of it as a super meter bar from your favorite fighting game. When it reaches max, your next attack will do extra damage.

It's cool to see them trying new things.

I myself never played the original b/c I am bad at video games. I did play an emulated version on a website and I don't understand that games 30 years ago were different from today in that the hardware was limited, so more emphasis had to be placed on challenging and thoughtful gameplay than pretty graphics. The Ice Climbers are also old so I don't know who they are even though they are in several more modern games such as Kirby, Warioware, and available on the wii virtual console.

Fixed that for ya.

When I was no older than 3, I got my first console from an Uncle who gave me his NES. He gave me a handful of the games he had, and little did I know the jackpot I hit. Tysons Punch Out, Castlevania III, Metroid, Megaman 2, and the gold cartridge Zelda.

Punch out is one of those games that I still slap in the NES and have grand ol' time. Screw you Lonesome. :p

That was a good group of games, Megaman, Metroid and Super Mario were my NES fav's, could never get into Zelda. Gaming really took off when the PSX was released (later reskinned and renamed PS One for your younger folks). WWF Smackdown, Metal Gear Solid, FF7, GTA 1 and 2, i still have and play all those games.

Whoever says that the first Super Smash Bros sucked clearly has no idea what they are talking about and must be a hippy...

Yeah, if someone wanted a list of "what games must I absolutely own for the NES", you just listed all of them except super mario bros 1-3. That's the top 8 for me, then add Final Fantasy and Kid Icarus to round out a nice top 10 games for me.

I believe in gameplay over graphics. Some of my top favorite games are Tribes 2 (2001), Mario Kart 64, Perfect Dark, Golden Eye. Punch Out just sucks.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion. Too bad yours is absolutely wrong.

Also, the way less rad Hoops was somehow in that collection.

Edit: Never mind hoops was fucking rad.
