Depends. If it's a true DDoS there's not much you can do because it's just spamming so much data it saturates your server's bandwidth. If it's a normal (non-distributed) DoS then it may be possible to patch the issue

Is it possible that people spamming the join button cause this ? Like i remember certain people were getting kicked out and retried almost instantly

there are no good upgrade paths from a 9400f because the 9000 series is the best your socket (LGA1151) can handle. you're better off with a whole new computer at this point. get something like a 5700x3d
