The ban happened because of something I said in Team Fortress 2 voice chat. I was accused of using hate speech, but I believe the context was misunderstood.
I am appealing my ban for alleged hate speech in voice chat.
I would like to clarify the context of the comments that led to the ban. The statements I made were intended as jokes and not as an attempt to spread hate, target, or discriminate against anyone because of their identity or personal characteristics.
One comment I made was about a player being a “femboy” and playing Medic, where I jokingly said I did not want him to heal me as a joke. Another comment was about people being gay and not making that their entire personality. My intention was not to attack LGBTQ+ players or express hatred toward them, but I understand that my wording may have come across as disrespectful or offensive.
I apologize for the way my comments may have been interpreted and I understand that voice chat rules exist to keep the game enjoyable and welcoming for everyone. I will be more careful with my language in the future and avoid making jokes that could be misunderstood or make other players uncomfortable.
I kindly ask you to reconsider my ban and review my case again. I appreciate your time and consideration.
