TF2C not appearing in Steam when everything seems to be in place

So i have done everything correctly according to the multiple tutorials that i have used, with tf2c being in the sourcemods folder in my Steam directory, i have installed the 2013 Multiplayer sdk, and theoretically, everything should be working. Unfortunately, I cannot see the game appearing in Steam, an yes, there is a client.dll present.

Alright... are you using the right branch of the source SDK? right click source sdk and then properties from the drop down. Go to the betas tab and select beta_test. If that doesn't work... shrug

Doesn't the tutorial say to choose upcoming?

Not anymore. Now you should be using the beta branch and either the new download of TF2C or view this guide to get an unpatched version to work.
