If this isnt coming back, then there was no reason for me to join.
Ergo i could have provide some donation, but if itsn't coming back....
...No reason.. = )
Three people do not a full server make.
Sorry if it sounds harsh, but per our "open honesty with the community effort" here is the cold truth: I need a lot more community interest and commitment than this to even consider bringing them back. It's just not worth the time and effort involved if I have no support that the server will not end up a ghost town.
Then there's the fact the community completely balked when we asked for help in getting them configured properly (both CSS and CSGO when we had them). It doesn't exactly instill me with confidence when I have a group of people cheering "Let's put up/fix server X", and I say "OK, sure. Can you guys help me configure it how you want it?" and all I hear is crickets in the deafening silence.
Like everyone else here I have a life outside this community, and while I'd like to spend all my time here running the servers and making VF4 even more awesome, it is a volunteer job and takes a back seat to real life things. TF2/the site already takes up the majority of my spare time, and I hope you can understand I don't want to risk letting those go to pot because I'm focusing on learning the intricacies of a new game server that may or may not be a success. We've come close to that in the past before I came on board, and I'll be damned if I let that happen while I'm in charge, especially after all the effort I put into getting us on the road to recovery from the state FFN was in when I came on board as lead developer.
So, my answer is still the same as it was before:
If someone is willing to make the time investment and put a proper, working CSS/CSGO server config in my hands (and I mean an actual.cfg file and any dependencies, not just a list of "oh, you need X,Y and Z" leaving me to search and figure the details out myself), I'll take it and gladly put up a trial server to see how it fills. This at least eliminates the time burden so I have a solid, low-maintenance launching point for the server that doesn't require me to spend time I don't really have.
tl;dr: If the community is willing to commit, so will I.
