• Please DO NOT post in a ban contest thread unless you are:
    1. The person banned or posting a ban request.
    2. Senior Staff or part of the Ban Appeal Team.
This is necessary to keep threads on-topic and uncluttered. Thank you.

If you don't know why you were banned, you probably broke one of our server rules. Most bans are temporary except in the case of gross violations or repeated infractions.

Server Name: VaultF4 - Official [NA-1] Standard
Map(s): cp_amaranth
Reason for Ban Request: Cheating/Hacking
Additional Comments: His aim on most of his headshot kills seem to snap for one frame and then return to their original position. It is fairly hard to spot since it is for literally one frame. His aim in other instances show that he can aim smoothly, but these instances on headshots are rather robotic in the way it snaps. In the first video: 0:08 on pyro, his crosshair aligns with the bottom left side of top box and it snaps to pyro for one frame and returns to the same spot. 0:17 on pyro has an unnatural frame skip. In the second video: 0:00, his crosshair lines up to a crack on the wood, for one frame it goes to the right side of the "S" on the logo texture, then his crosshair immediately returns to the crack in the wood. Hope this helps spot what I am talking about c:
PS. Use , and . to go frame by frame just in case you do not know.

In my opinion this doesn't look like cheating, rather a disconnect in what your game is showing you and what the person is actually looking at. Most likely lag is my best guess.

The guy claims to be Russian in his IGN, is Russian according to HLStatsX, and I've heard him on VC before speaking an Eastern European language which I can presume to be Russian. The server is in NA, which is a large enough distance that it's feasible that ping issues may arise.

Not to mention the fact he misses most of his sniper shots anyway. I highly doubt a cheater would use an aimbot to kill only a few people and turn it off as he misses every other shot.

Of course, admins have the final say, but I wanted to offer my thoughts.

Lag can be a reasonable thought to have for his seemingly legitimate shots being the ones where he shoots a delayed shot which is a character length behind. The only issue from this reasoning though is the fact that the singular frame twitches align with known cheats and is a repeated pattern. I am not claiming that I 100% know he is cheating, but from what he is showing us the probability of him cheating is higher than that of him not.

In the first clip his SMG twitches when he is trying to kill a spy, and I will say that considering he didn't hit most of his shots nor did his crosshair return to the exact spot even once, that moment was legitimate lag. The SMG twitching like that is actually a repeated pattern that happens multiple times throughout all of my clips and I can confirm that the crosshair when he lags does not overlap on the exact spot even once. The issue that arises from this is the fact that the single frame twitches become an outlier since the crosshair returns to its exact spot after 1 frame; it does not occur on any other weapons than the sniper.

Other VF4 snipers & I believe he is cheating and have our suspicions, but if this isn't enough footage then I can always get more since him hitting these types of shots is rather consistent while using the sniper and not anything else. At the end of the day, it is the mods decision as I am not exactly too eager to know what happens.

PS. I hope you are well since I actually liked how you played as it was fun to fight against as scout. I am off for today though, I have a shower to get to and a bed to relax in.

He could be cheating, but I do not find this to be enough evidence to administer a ban. Though do keep an eye on him and collect more evidence.

Again, admins get final say, I'm offering my opinion on the situation. I personally am someone who is extremely reluctant to ban people and enforce a strict "innocent until proven guilty" in my community, and if I were a moderator of a video game server and saw this, I wouldn't ban him just yet.

Although I am fairly sure he is cheating, I would like to gather more footage before any action is taken so I do not possibly ruin someone's fun. Until I get more footage, I would like my thread to be closed until further consideration and time has been put in on my part, if I get more evidence then it will go in another post. Anyone who reads this should be more attentive towards this player.

Footage of a few instances which could possibly be a known cheat is damning, but it only totaling 2 minutes of view time is unfair to the person.

Marking as closed, they got flagged and banned by our anti-cheat.
