New Xbox Reveal In May!

New vision for the Xbox (or any console for that matter)

Use computer graphics card that is great for the current month/year. Brag about how great the games look, how realistic they are. Include a stupid gimmick that is great for tech demos but does nothing to add to gameplay (like the Six Axis controller). It is extremely important to remember that even 5 years later you should keep the same graphics card from 5 years ago.

The end.

I don't play consoles for the graphics, I play them because my friends don't have the money/knowledge to build a decent computer and keep the parts updated to play current games. Also if you buy a game just based off graphics than you are looking at games the wrong way, yes graphics can help push a game but there are tons of great games that have relatively simple graphics.

Well yes their are numerous other reasons, I was just keeping it simple.

To me it's all about the experience that YOU want.
Consoles are like kids riding a bike with a baseball card attached to the rims with a clothes pin so when you ride around it clacks and sounds like a motor.
Computers are like Formula 1 racers.

Sure the Formula 1 racer is probably $200,000+, and a bike with an imaginary motor is $200. But you have to strive for the experience you want. If you are perfectly happy with the bike, then go for that. But if your dream is to have the race car, then you need to start saving up and join the big boys league.

Me, I want the Formula 1 racer.

Seriously, games should be more about gameplay, does it feel right? Does the story make sense? Do you actually have an impact?(Hence my love for RPG's.), some people feel more right playing on a console then a computer. Personally I started off playing on consoles, then I was introduced to CSS by some friends, and before I know it, desktop gaming. But I still do heavy console gaming, in fact most of my games are the console versions, partly because multiplayer with friends, partly because single player, it's easier for me to talk through everything with friends.

We're nearing the date! Felt quick as hell. Anyone hoping for anything certain?

Personally, I'm hoping to see the actual xbox and its controller. AND I want them to give the name out. Not the fucking 720.

I'm hoping they talk about revamping Xbox live to compete with Sony's PS+. Back when the 360 first came out they used to give out free games every month and they had 1 vs 100 which we would play every week, they need to get back to that.

You can have the best car in the world that won't mean a thing without a track to run it on. There is a reason why so many tracks are available to run the car that keeps one stable engine throughout its life. The lifespan may be shorter for it but it's consistent. I'm both a PC and console gamer. I have far more console games I look back fondly on than PC ones. I've been gaming since the Colecovision, Atari 2600, Commodore 64, etc. Gameplay trumps graphics every day of the week.

We are now 12 hours away from the reveal!!

So, aiming for name of xbox, and reveal of the actual console and controller.

drinking game for those not working?

Oh I am so fucking in for this.

Oh god, the netflix/espn/hulu/facebook/twitter may kill us.

Add another. "If it is called Xbox 720, find as many drinks as you can and down them all".

If rare does present something I hope its a new Viva Pinata.

I would play but I'll be at work, don't think they would like it much if I got drunk.

Not sure if the stream went any further, the website won't load for me anymore, but there is good news!

The Xbox is NOT named the 720. But it is named Xbox One. Interesting choice I guess. From a rumor I saw, I'd have hoped for Xbox Infinity or something. Oh well.

The console itself was shown! Looks alright.

The controller was shown! I like it. Looking at my 360 controller, the new one looks like it will be slightly bigger, and the giant X button in the middle is top middle now. Looks good though.

I wasn't paying attention to the details of what is in it, but a friend on facebook said it is stronger than the PS4? Anyone know about that one?

It was good overall. Oh, HALO LIVE ACTION SERIES! I'm excited. Rest of the reveal crap was boring really. Voice commands on xbox, crappy sports games, another CoD that looks meh.

They did say we'll learn the exclusive games at E3. I do want to know the more specific hardware list... Such as the gpu... That was not shared. Which could have dedicated memory like the 360's gpu

//ignore this line. it is just a comment.

I hate all this "unveiling" bullshit. Just show us the damn systems and tell us the price tags.

Well, we were shown the system CD. =P Price tag no, but honestly I don't care yet because it doesn't come out till the end of this year. Plenty of time left...

I just feel like all this drawn out crap is completely worthless. They made a system, just show it all already.

AngryJoe makes a lot of good points (like the fact that gamers want to see how it handles GAMES, not some TV crap), but I think he was way to quick to jump into predicting the downfall of the Xbox. Let's see what they bring to E3. Still worth watching though.
